Acceptable Use Policy

The Blackwater Cove School District provides technology resources including computers, internet access, student email accounts, and student portal services for educational purposes. Use of district systems constitutes agreement with the following guidelines.

Permitted Uses

• Accessing course materials and assignments
• Communicating with teachers and staff
• Completing educational activities and research
• Viewing schedules, grades, and school information

Prohibited Uses

• Sharing passwords or account information
• Accessing another student's account
• Downloading unauthorized software
• Harassing, threatening, or bullying others
• Using school systems for illegal activity
• Attempting to modify school technology systems
• Accessing inappropriate or explicit content

Email and Messaging

Student communication systems are intended for educational and school-related purposes only. Messages may be reviewed by school administration when necessary to ensure safety and compliance with district policies.

Internet Usage

Internet activity on district devices may be monitored and filtered. Students should understand that there should be no expectation of complete privacy while using district technology resources.

Violations

Violations of this policy may result in:

• Temporary account suspension
• Loss of technology privileges
• Parent or guardian notification
• School disciplinary action
